Professional Standards

In Canada, the Canadian Addiction Counselling Certification Federation (CACCF) is the only organization that can offer certifications through the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC).

The CACCF’s education standards for certification has a minimum of 270 hours of addiction specific training in 12 addiction counselling domains. These educational standards have been the cornerstone to CACCF’s certification and professionalization of the addiction counselling profession for the past 25 years.

Once an addiction counsellor has been certified through the CACCF, they need to recertify every two years. The recertification process includes taking 40 hours of continuing education credits or units every two years.

At iRecovery Works, we have developed courses that meet these professional standards for recertification with the CACCF. All of our courses and CEU’s are approved by the CACCF prior to loading them on our web site. Each course is “Core Addiction Knowledge” for recertification purposes.

At iRecovery Works, we deliver all of our courses online through our dedicated web site. Any addiction counsellor can easily recertify with the 40 hours of online training offered through the iRecovery Works online website.

iRecovery Works has developed a convenient start to finish process online. The course catalogue, the course outlines, the content, the payment system, the certificates and access to the course proctor are all completed online.

iRecovery Works web site is convenient and easy to use. Everything you need to complete your educational requirements for recertification is available online.

Additionally, the recertification courses are inexpensive at only $99 for each 10 hours of CEU’s.
