In Canada, the Canadian Addiction Counselling Certification Federation (CACCF) is the only organization that can offer certifications through the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC).

The CACCF’s education standards for certification has a minimum of 270 hours of addiction specific training in 12 addiction counselling domains. These educational standards have been the cornerstone to CACCF’s certification and professionalization of the addiction counselling profession for the past 25 years.

We definitely live in an age of technology that did not exist 20 or 30 years ago. I was reminded of this the other night watching tv.

I grew up in the 70’s so I remember all the technology that existed during that time. So a couple of nights ago, I was watching “That 70’s Show”, on my 52 inch HD 1080 p flat screen plasma TV, broadcasting through Netflix through the internet through the XBOX 360 through the HDMI 1 Port.

At iRecovery Works, we have started with offering four specific courses, Assessment, Case Management, Concurrent Disorders and Drug Classes and the Brain. Each course has been pre-approved by the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF) for 10 continuing education units, CEU’S.
